How My Internship Turned Into a Career at Enterprise Mobility

Management Assistant, Anna B., at Enterprise Mobility quote from blog

Starting My Internship at Enterprise Mobility

When I look back at the last two years, it’s hard to believe how much has changed and how much I’ve grown. What started as an internship has become a journey that’s shaped my confidence, my career direction and the opportunities I’m stepping into next.

I joined Enterprise Mobility in June 2024 as a Management Trainee Intern, excited but unsure of what to expect. I was studying Business Management at Manchester Metropolitan University and I knew I wanted hands‑on experience that would push me beyond the classroom. What I didn’t realise was just how much this internship would shape my confidence, my skills and ultimately the direction of my graduate career.

Gaining Real World Experience Beyond University

From day one, I was welcomed into a team that trusted me. They always encouraged me to get involved and challenged me to learn more and step out of my comfort zone. I wasn’t just shadowing on my internship, I was learning how the business operated, supporting customers and I soon realised how much I enjoyed being part of a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment.

Earning a Promotion During My Internship

One of the standout moments of my internship was being promoted to Management Assistant Intern. This is an opportunity that is open to all interns, and something that genuinely sets Enterprise Mobility apart. Being promoted while still an intern showed me that hard work, consistency and the right attitude do not go unnoticed, no matter your level.

Taking on Leadership as a Campus Brand Manager

Another major turning point in my journey came when returned to my final year at university and stepped into the Campus Brand Manager (CBM) role. Saying yes to that opportunity changed everything.

As a CBM, I found myself stepping into leadership in a completely new way. I hosted bespoke recruitment events on campus, led talks in lectures and became a visible representative of the Enterprise Mobility brand. I learned how to speak confidently to large groups, how to engage students and how to communicate the value of the opportunities Enterprise Mobility offers.

Being ranked in the top three out of 68 CBMs year‑to‑date is something I’m incredibly proud of. It reflects the commitment and creativity I’ve put into the role. From setting up events and taking the lead, to being proactive on social media, creating content and using my platform to reach students in a way that felt authentic and engaging.

The CBM role also gave me a unique insight into recruitment. I saw firsthand what students look for and what motivates them. I also learned how important it is to represent a brand with confidence and clarity. It strengthened my communication skills, my ability to influence and my understanding of how to build meaningful connections - all of which have shaped the professional I’m becoming.

One of the most rewarding parts of the role has been helping others. Whether it was answering questions at careers fairs, supporting students through the application process or simply sharing my own journey - I loved being able to encourage people to see their own potential. Enterprise Mobility is an organisation built on people, and I’ve felt that at every stage. From managers who believed in me to team mates who supported me.

Moving from Internship to Graduate Career at Enterprise Mobility

And now, as I prepare to graduate in July, I’m stepping into my next chapter. I’m returning to Enterprise Mobility full-time as a Management Assistant and relocating to Dublin for a five-month secondment at the airport location. This opportunity means a lot to me - not only is it a chance to challenge myself in a new environment and learn in a different market, but it’s also something I worked hard for. As part of the application, I had to create a video explaining why I should be chosen - this again pushed me out of my comfort zone and reminded me how far my confidence has come.

Looking Ahead to the Next Chapter of My Career

Moving countries, representing the brand in a new location, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally is something I’m incredibly excited about. It feels like the natural next step in a journey that has been shaped by saying yes to opportunities that felt slightly bigger than me.
